The purpose of an intervention is aimed at catalyzing the substance-abusing person’s entry into a treatment program. Safe members educate family members about the dangers of enabling, the goals of the confrontational intervention, and problem-solving strategies. The goal is to convince the substance-abusing person entry into a treatment program.
Due to illicit drug use, community members will end up in the criminal justice system. Offenders who commit non-violent offenses are eligible for court diversion through the SAFE Second Chance Program.
